APCC demands CM’s ouster for failure to ensure security

ITANAGAR | May 24 | Taking a dig at the GoAP for its complete failure on security preparedness, Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has termed Monday incident of attacking Govt. officials with AK56 as another feather to add to its achievement of ineffective and miss-governance.

Lawlessness has become the order of the day. Stray incidents, extortion, loot and criminal intimidation are regular occurrence reflecting weakness of BJP Govt in regulating the machineries to function responsibly.  A  former minister was served an extortion notice for Rs 10 lakh by some underground outfits recently but neither the GoAP nor the law enforcing authority has a say in the matter till date, the APCC said in a release.

The APCC demanded voluntary resignation of Chief Minister Pema Khandu for its failure to protect the life and property of the people.

It also supported all Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) in its movement against grant of citizenship rights to Chakma-Hajong refugees in Arunachal Pradesh.

Lauding AAPSU for its role in spearheading awareness on the vexed refugee issue, which it  termed as social issue of whole state. But, the  APCC cautioned that if these refuges are allowed to have Arunachalee status it will not only lead to demographic change but also will cause socio-economic and political threat in future.

Stressing not to undermine the refugees known for wide ranging lobbying strategies and mechanism, the APCC urged all indigenous tribes to stand united on the issue nib this issue at the bud.

Castigating Union MoS (Hoe Affairs) Kiren Rijiju for his ineffective role, the APCC has demanded him to tender his resignation voluntarily. The BJP led GoAP should also own moral responsibility as central BJP leadership took this unilateral and dictatorial decision. It is a wakeup call for the state people to understand the hidden agenda of saffron brigade lest it will be too late.

Moreover,  the APCC asked the GoAP  to clarify its stand on this vexed issue and should hold an all party meeting immediately to discuss the pros and con of the issue.
